If you are an individual who resides in California, please see our Privacy Notice for California Residents (located here) regarding your additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act with respect to personal information.
We may collect two basic types of information in conjunction with your use of any Services – personal information and information that is not personal information. “Personal information” is any information that can individually identify a person (for example, your or your client’s name, email address or telephone number or your username), unique financial information (such as a credit card number) and information that we link to a person’s unique identifying information. Information that is not personal information includes business information (such as the name of a business or the business address or phone number), anonymized usage information (such as pages visited, interaction patterns, device details, location and demographics), and any other information that does not uniquely identify a person. If information is not uniquely linked to a person (such as your usage of the Services if you do not provide us with identifying information), we do not consider it to be personal information.
From time to time, we may also aggregate (group) or de-link or de-identify (anonymize) personal information so that the information is not linked to a person. We do not consider information that has been aggregated or anonymized to be personal information. For example, a postal address would not be personal information if it were included in a list of addresses without names or other unique identifiers.
Personal Information You Provide
You may voluntarily supply us with personal information. For example, we will collect personal information when you:
In addition, as an inspector subscribing to the Services, you and your authorized account users (“Users”) may create, upload, store, process or transmit in the Services inspection reports, other reports, text, photos, videos, comments, reviews, feedback, notes, ideas, know-how, techniques, data or other information (individually and collectively, "User Content"). User Content may include your personal information and/or that of other people (such as your clients), depending on what kind of User Content it is.
Automatically Collected Information
Log Usage Data. When you interact with the Services, we or our service providers may automatically record usage data. These logs may include information such as your IP address, device information about your computer, mobile device, or other device that you use to access any Services, browser information, traffic data (such as time and date of access, access times, and referring website addresses), session information (such as pages visited, screen actions and other interaction patterns) and cookie information. We use this information to assist us in running the Services and ensuring proper operation and to improve the Services. We do not treat this information as personal information unless it is linked to you with your name, username or other unique identifier.

We do not honor do-not-track signals from browsers or other consumer choice mechanisms regarding the collection of behavioral tracking data.
Location Data. If you provide location information at any other time via your account settings, or if location information is included as part of the information we collect (for example, your IP address may provide an approximate geo-location), we may store and use that information in connection with your account. If you are using mobile Services, we may collect location data directly from your mobile device if your device allows us to do so. Your mobile device manufacturer or mobile service provider may provide you with choices about how and whether location data is shared with us. We do not treat this information as personal information unless it is linked to you with your name, username or other unique identifier.
Aggregate Information. We collect non-personal, statistical information about the use of the Services, such as how many visitors visit a specific page, how long they stay, and which links they click on.
Social Media Sites
The Services may include social media widgets, such as those of Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter widgets. These features may collect information about your IP address and which page you’re visiting on our Services, and they may set a cookie to make sure their feature functions properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Services. Your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.
Information From Third Parties
We may obtain personal information from third parties. For example, we may obtain personal information from ISN Partners (as described below) and our corporate affiliates, from companies who partner with us to offer discounts, promotions or services to you or your clients, or from consumer data collection companies.
We use the personal information we collect to help us develop, personalize and continually improve your experience with the Services. As non-limiting examples, we may use the personal information we collect from and about you and your clients in the following ways:
ISN may share your personal information with other companies, government agencies or other third parties as described below.
We may share your business information (and any personal information included in it) with selected companies with whom we partner (“ISN Partners”) for the purpose of offering you an expanded range of business services to support, facilitate and augment home inspection-related services. ISN Partners with whom we may share this information include the companies listed on our Partner Page, located here. ISN Partners will use personal information in accordance with their respective privacy policies, which we encourage you to review if you have questions regarding how they will handle personal information provided by ISN. ISN Partners are not allowed to use personal information received from ISN in a manner prohibited under this policy.
Corporate Affiliate Porch.com, Inc.
We may make personal information available to the third-party service providers that help ISN to operate the Services (such as web hosting, analytics, customer service providers and payment processers) and perform the Services (such as companies that help us prepare repair estimate reports for you and your clients). Companies collecting, processing and storing personal information in connection with the services they provide to ISN are prohibited from using that personal information for any purpose other than performing the applicable services and will have access only as necessary to do so.
Legal Compliance and Protection of Rights
Merger, Sale, Or Bankruptcy
If we sell all or part of our business, or make a sale or transfer of our assets, or are otherwise involved in a merger or transfer of all or a material part of our business, or are involved in a bankruptcy, ISN may transfer personal information to the party or parties involved as part of that transaction.
Marketing Calls and Texts
Receiving promotional calls and text (SMS) messages from us or ISN Partners is completely voluntary, and you may opt out at any time.
To opt out of promotional calls or text (SMS) messages from ISN, you can send an opt-out request to firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, to opt out of promotional text (SMS) messages, you can text STOP to any text (SMS) message you receive. You may receive a final text message confirming your opt-out. Please allow up to 10 business days to process any opt-out request. Message and data rates may apply.
Email and Other Communications
Communications After Opt-Out
Even if you opt out of receiving marketing communications from ISN, while you are still an active user of the Services, you may still receive non-promotional communications from us. We reserve the right to send you service announcements (such as notifications about site outages) or administrative messages, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. In addition, because we must communicate with you about service requests that you have submitted, you cannot opt out of receiving emails, text (SMS) messages or calls from us relating to those requests.
Changing Information; Account
You may also make requests regarding your personal information, such as requests to update or correct inaccurate information, by emailing us at email@example.com or writing us at 2200 1st Ave South, Seattle, WA 98134.
If you are a client of an inspector and wish to correct your information in the inspector’s records or ISN account, please contact the inspector.
If you are an individual who is a California resident, please click here for additional disclosures regarding your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act with respect to your personal information.
If you are an individual who is a resident of Nevada, you have the right to opt out of ISN’s sale of certain kinds of personal information (as defined under Nevada law) to purchasers that will then license or sell the covered information to additional persons. Nevada law specifies various transactions that are excluded from the definition of “sale”: for example, sales or disclosures for purposes of providing a product or service at the request of the consumer, transfers to service providers, transfers to corporate affiliates (e.g., Porch and the Porch family of companies), and disclosures consistent with the reasonable expectations of a consumer. If you exercise this opt-out right, you will not be opted out from transactions that the law does not deem to be sales. You can exercise this right by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Nevada Do Not Sell Request.”
We are concerned about ensuring the security of personal information. We use commercially reasonable efforts to protect personal information collected through the Services from access, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction by any unauthorized party. Please understand, however, that no transmission of data over the internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We do not promise, and you should not expect, that personal information or private communications will always remain private. You are also responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect the information in your account against unauthorized disclosure or misuse such as by maintaining the confidentiality of your username and password and logging out of your account when not using the Services.
Please note that the Services may link to other websites and online services operated by third parties. These websites and applications operate independently from us, and we do not control their privacy policies, which may be different from ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites or applications.
We are committed to complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not intentionally collect personal information from children. If we learn that personal information of a child under 18 has been provided to us without verification of parental consent, we will take commercially reasonable steps to delete that information.
The Services are offered only within the United States. As the Internet is a global environment, collecting and processing information may involve the transmission of this data internationally, including into and/or outside of the United States. Therefore, by communicating electronically with us, you acknowledge and agree to your and your clients’ personal information being processed in this way.
