We may collect two basic types of information in conjunction with your use of any Services – personal information and non-personal information. “Personal information” is any information that can individually identify an individual and includes, for example and without limitation, a person’s name, email address, username, telephone number, postal address, and so forth. “Non-personal information” includes information that does not personally identify an individual but may include (without limitation) anonymized usage information about location, demographics, transaction information, and use of Services and the Internet.
You may voluntarily supply us with personal information. For example, we will collect personal information when you:
As an inspector subscribing to the Services, you and your authorized account users (“Users”) may create, upload, store, process or transmit in the Services text, photos, videos, measurements, reports, comments, reviews, feedback, notes, ideas, know-how, techniques, data or other information (individually and collectively, “User Content”).
When you use any Services, our servers may keep an activity log that has been anonymized and cannot not identify you individually. These logs may include anonymized information such as device information about your computer, mobile device, or other device that you use to access any Services, browser information and traffic data, such as time and date of access, access times, and referring website addresses. We use this information to assist us in running the Services and ensuring proper operation.
When you interact with any of the Services, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, “cookie” information, and the page you requested.
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies, but you can change your settings to notify you when a cookie is being set or updated, or to block cookies altogether. Please consult the “Help” section of your browser for more information. Please note that by blocking any or all cookies, you may not have access to certain features, content, or personalization available through the Services.
Currently, we do not honor do-notces. Your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.
Children’s Online Privacy
ISN respects the privacy of children and we are committed to complying with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not intentionally collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us without verification of parental consent, we will take commercially reasonable steps to delete that information.
We use the information we collect from you and about you to help us develop, personalize and continually improve your experience with the Services. As non-limiting examples, we may use the information we collect from and about you in the following ways:
We may share your personal information with our corporate affiliates and selected companies with whom we partner (“ISN Partners”) who can offer an expanded range of business services to support, facilitate and augment home inspection-related services. ISN Partners with whom we may share personal information include the companies listed on the Partner page of our Services.
We may make your personal information available to the third-party service providers that help ISN to operate the Services (such as web hosting, analytics, customer service providers and payment processers) and perform the Services.
We may also use or disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform to applicable law or comply with legal process served on us or the Services; (b) respond to requests from public and government authorities; (c) protect and defend our rights or property, the Services, or our users or ISN Partners; and (d) act under emergency circumstances to protect the personal safety of ISN, ISN Partners, agents, or the users of the Services or the public.
Marketing Calls and Texts
Receiving promotional calls and text (SMS) messages from us or ISN Partners is completely voluntary, and you may opt out at any time.
To opt out of promotional calls or text (SMS) messages from ISN, you can send an opt-out request to firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, to opt out of promotional text (SMS) messages, you can text STOP to any text (SMS) message you receive. You may receive a final text message confirming your opt-out. Please allow up to 10 business days to process any opt-out request. Message and data rates may apply.
Email and Other Communications
We may contact you by email or other means at an email address that you have provided to us. For example, we may send you promotional offers or our newsletter.
You also may be contacted by ISN Partners about relevant products and services that we believe expand the opportunities to support the home inspection-related businesses of our customers.
Communications After Opt-Out
Even if you opt out of receiving marketing communications from ISN, while you are still an active user of the Services, you may still receive non-promotional communications from us. We reserve the right to send you service announcements (such as notifications about site outages) or administrative messages, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them. In addition, because we must communicate with you about service requests that you have submitted, you cannot opt out of receiving emails, text (SMS) messages or calls from us relating to those requests.
Merger, Sale, Or Bankruptcy
If we sell all or part of our business, or make a sale or transfer of our assets, or are otherwise involved in a merger or transfer of all or a material part of our business, or are involved in a bankruptcy, ISN may transfer your information to the party or parties involved as part of that transaction.
